Reports are coming in about the Steam Frame, and much like comparing the Steam Deck to a Switch 2, folks that compare it to the Quest 3 are missing the point. The Steam Frame is an arm64 computer running Linux that happens to be a VR headset. For the same reason the Steam Deck is extremely compelling (including the ability to tear it down, replace parts, and stick it all back together), these are devices that treat the owner with respect. So I don't compare the price (or the battery life, yikes) to "the alternative", because in my mind, there *is no alternative*. I was deep in the Quest system for years, but got burned by Meta locking me out of my account, and refusing to work with me to recover it. I'm confident I won't be having any issues like that with the Frame. More when I get one (if I get one...? The lottery aspect still has to settle!)
